About Lennox Head
If there's one word that defines Lennox Head, it's “relaxed”.
Originally a farming district, the charming seaside village of Lennox Head is just 10 minutes drive south of busy Byron Bay and has become home to a population of around 1900 permanent residents, rising to 3000 in the holiday season.
Lake Ainsworth was the inspiration behind the establishment of Lennox Head as a holiday destination because of its family friendly safe swimming and still continues to be a draw-card today...
Lennox Head has been described as a place to “get away from it all” without sacrificing the big-city offerings of alfresco dining, or cafe culture.
Surf:World famous for its right hand point break, Lennox Head surfers are spoilt for choice. Recently given National Surfing Reserve status, you can surf from Flat Rock to Lennox Main Beach all year round.
Lennox Head is listed on Australia's Top Ten Surf Beaches because of its unique geography and has become a preferred destination amongst surfers because of the lack of crowds.
Eat:Lennox Head is heaven for foodies. The village's charming restaurants, cafes and monthly markets offer a full range of cuisine, all within easy reach.
Or why not grab some takeaway fish and chips and a picnic rug? Take in the sunset while you sit on the beach and while the waves roll in.
Play:Morning, noon and night, Lennox Head's white-sand beach is the place to be. At first light, dog walkers, runners, and surfers arrive with a purpose in mind, followed by beach activities and sun-bakers later on.
Nightlife:After a leisurely dinner, the always lively Lennox Hotel (right across from the beach) has a regular line-up of the hottest live bands as they tour Australia. You'll be assured of a fun night out here, mixing with locals and holiday makers.
Nearby:One of the best things about Lennox is its proximity to a vast range of leisure activities. You can go horse-riding, golfing, fishing on a charter boat (or throw a line in off the beach), hot air ballooning and hang-gliding. The range of fun things to do is endless!
